Kiki Mitchell from She’s Royal Radio
Tell everyone a little bit
about you and your business
A little about me...I hate telling people
about myself, lol. I never know exactly what to say. I am blessed
beyond measure with amazing talents but I never want to sound like I'm
bragging. I hold several different positions for volunteer work. I
am the President of the Virginia Chapter of Sistas Inspiring Sistas, I am the
Chairperson of the Alberta Special Events Committee for the Town of Alberta,
Virginia and I am the Team Captain of The Royal Steppers a Relay for Life team
for the American Cancer Society.
Professionally I am the CEO and Head Event
Planner of Royalti Inc., a party and event planning company. I am also
the Founder and President of She's Royal Radio, a platform designed to
spotlight the issues that affect the black community. I also work as a
Group Home Counselor for adults with intellectual disabilities. I am a self-proclaimed
"World's Greatest Auntie" to 2 beautiful nieces and 4 handsome
nephews! I am middle child of two amazing parents. I'm the sister of two
and a friend to many. I love life, chocolate and chasing success!! For
this interview I would like to tell everyone about She's Royal Radio.
She's Royal Radio is an online radio show that
was created to spotlight issues that affect the black community. I feel
that we (as African Kings & Queens) have strayed from our throne and in
order to get back on track we need to dissect the issues that's keeping us off
track.
How long have you been doing your
business?
She's Royal Radio launched on Tuesday, March 4
2014 but this has been a dream of mine for years. Approximately 2 years
ago I was a guest on a radio show and shared with the host how I wanted to
create my own show. At that moment I didn't know what direction I wanted
to take the show but over the years it slowly came together. When the
vision was given to me I ran with it! She's Royal Radio will air every other Tuesday night
at 9:30 PM on www.blogtalkradio.com/shesroyalradio.
What inspired you to start your business?
Life inspired me to start She's Royal Radio.
As I stated earlier I am an auntie to 6 ranging in ages of 2-16. The younger generation has so much to deal with and good role models are
scarce. We (the black community) need to step up to the plate and redirect our
princes & princesses back to the throne. My generation needs to become
aware of the issues that affect us as well.
What are some of your favorite things so that potential
clients/listeners/supporters can get to know more about you?
Some of my favorite things...chocolate,
infomercials and love! lol. I can be bribed with anything chocolate but
the best thing to bribe me with is chocolate cake or brownies, lol. Yes I
love infomercials. Not exactly sure why, but I love watching them.
Cooking & exercise infomercials are my favorites to watch. And
love...I believe the world needs more love. Selfishness is high in today's
society, so I enjoy spreading love. :)
What
are your plans as far as your business in the future?
My future plans for She's Royal Radio is to
take this movement from the airwaves to the "streets". A wide
variety of topics will be discussed on She's Royal Radio and I plan to do more
than just discuss. For example, we will discuss finances in the black
community. I want to offer classes and workshops to help us learn to
manage our finances and how "keeping up with the Jones" should not be
a priority. I want to do many workshops, classes and events to better ourselves.
I also want to start a mentoring program and do more with the youth
worldwide.
What
do you hope to accomplish with your business?
I hope to accomplish the plan that God has
laid out before me. I hope to change people’s lives. I hope to make a
difference in this world regardless of how big or small. I hope to give
someone "the sign" that they have been waiting for to follow the plan
that God has for them.
Is
there anything in particular that you specialize in for your business to target
a certain clientele?
There is nothing particular that I specialize
in for She's Royal Radio. My target audience is the black community but I
want everyone to listen and participate in events that I host. I'm only
targeting the black community because that's what I know. I can only speak on
what I know. However if I can help any other cultures, I'm willing!

Is there anything else you would like to share for
potential clients about your motivation and inspiration in your everyday life?
I would like to encourage everyone to follow what’s
in your heart. It's in your heart for a reason...do not ignore it! The
road leading to your destination will NOT be easy but you CAN do it!! Stay the
course. If there is anything I can do to help you, motivate you or
encourage you do not hesitate to contact me and I'm serious about that!
